Our Mission

Legal Access Alameda provides free direct legal assistance to Alameda County’s low-income litigants by mobilizing volunteer attorneys to provide pro bono service.

Legal Access envisions a day where access to justice is available to all regardless of ability to pay.

Our Impact - More than a CAse

A legal problem is rarely just a legal problem.

Someone facing eviction isn't just an eviction case. They're worried about where their kids will sleep.

Someone dealing with family separation isn't just filling out court paperwork. They're trying to protect their family.

Someone struggling with debt isn't just a bankruptcy matter. They're trying to figure out how to keep their life from unraveling.

And sometimes the most meaningful intervention isn't taking someone through an entire legal case. It might be helping them understand their options, connecting them with another resource, making a second call, helping them complete one form, or giving them enough information to take the next step.
